The Monarch

‘The Monarch’ is a metal sculpture made up of five petals, symbolising the beauty and fragility of nature. The petals are designed with a precise shape that allows light to pass through, creating a play of light and shadow within the work and on the immediate and distant environment.

The five petals are arranged in a circle, at a slight angle, forming a stylised flower.
Depending on the position of the natural or artificial light, the cut-outs generate patterns on the petals.

These shadows evolve over the hours, offering a unique visual experience at every moment of the day, but it's at nightfall that the flower reaches its full potential. In the centre, a sculpted knob, also in metal, houses a powerful 40,000 lm lamp.
