moonGARDEN

Since it creation in 2012 in Montreal, moonGARDEN has toured the world from Lyon’s Fête des lumières, Bruxelles, Jerusalem, Washington to Beijing. Already seen by over a million people, it is without doubt an invitation to dream.

MoonGarden is a 12min light and sound show, looped. It is composed of 5 (five) self-inflated vinyl spheres, ranging from 6’ to 15’ feet diameter. The large spheres house a shadow theater.

Contrary to what most people think, these dreamy black and white sequences are not made with video but the result of the oldest audio-visual technique: a single light aimed at an object.

The size of the spheres, the craft in the shadowing, and the poetic soundscape, all contribute to creating a unique and immersive experience for the public. People are invited to wander around those compelling bubbles to become the privileged viewers of a timeless, almost hypnotic Story.

The number of spheres required to have a complete composition is five (5). It is composed of 1 (one) 15’ sphere, 2 (two) 10’ spheres, 1 (one) 8’ sphere, 1 (one) 6’ sphere. The 15’ sphere and 1 (one) of the 10’ are displaying a light and shadow show. The spheres 10-8-6 are a light show only. The sound comes out of the 3 (three) spheres (15-10-6). When not in use, the spheres still remain in a night, idle, glowing mode.
